Bad news: If only the story rose to their level. Bad news: There are a lot of 'filler' moments as you run around looking for items that should have been there - How does someone lock their own bag and then have to hunt up a combination? Good news: The characters are interesting and seem better conceived than usual.

One thing that was essential was the map. I completed most all of them after the demo. They were so varied it kept me interested. Music and effects went along with the action in the scenes. There is one character I thought was going to break into a valley girl, but she came to her senses. I thought the voice overs were well done. Of course, because of the genre of the game there are a lot of blues and such, but the colors were okay. I did lose some of the story and was a bit confused but it all came together at the end. The only problem is I didn't have a chance to play it all at once broke my playing time over a couple of days.
I almost didn't post this, because the game has been out for a while, but I had to put my two cents worth in, because of some of the negative reviews. Rated 4 out of 5 by PATinPNS from I Really Liked It This is posted after completing the entire game. There is something to do every minute at many locations (all beautifully drawn). It doesn't get much more creepy than that. This game has it all, from the creepy well drawn graphics, to the spooky and eerie music, to the interactive hidden object scenes and puzzles, including one where the player has to take items off corpses in the family crypt, including slipping a ring off a skeleton finger.

If you haven't tried the demo, you should. So, even though the SE is now out, I might just purchase the CE for the extras. I didn't feel that way with this game, but enjoyed it all. I usually feel the time with puzzles, looking for collectables, and morphing objects takes away from playing the adventure part of the game. They weren't long and complicated or boring. I usually skip the puzzles, but actually took the time to play these. Puzzles and HOS were varied and enjoyable. In fact, I don't think I used the hint through the entire demo. I didn't have to keep hitting the hint button just to see where to go next.

The story was interesting and easy to follow. I thought the scenes were colorful and extremely clear. There is so much to do and look for that the time just flew by in the demo. Rated 5 out of 5 by bwake47 from LOTS TO DO!! I'm really enjoying this game.
